Now that I'm older, and life has slowed me down, I find myself no longer playing out the day and just experiencing it. Surprise, wonder, and sometimes confusion, cause me to pause and just look, listen, and enjoy. I am in the mud room, getting ready to work on my next book. The yellow violets a friend gave me to plant in the yard are bright and cheery on this rainy day. I haven't the heart to plant them outside yet. They are well protected and cared for in this sunny room. The birds are at the feeder and the hummingbirds are here with me too. What a perfect day to stay in and write.
So there are no dragons in the sky, but there is Hey You; a crow that comes around to feed. He likes Cliff Bars. Stop anticipating and just experience. You'll be surprised at the wonders around you.
